Psychids (or
Psychidae) are a family of insects of the Lepidoptera order,
characterized by their habit of creating shells by gathering debris and
branches.
The collection is the result of a combination of Riccardo
Cenedella's research into materials and production processes and
Equilibri's tubular metal furniture production.
Inspired by the
behavior of Lepidoptera, the collection is created by welding together
steel tubes of various lengths and diameters, resulting from the
company's production.
This project aims to propose a production
process which can be defined as "differentiated serialization," in which
a single design can produce an infinite number of similar yet unique
products, subject to the availability of the tubes and their
variability.
